Human Attribution Layer & Orchestration
The protocol for persistent, attributable knowledge across all AI engagements — owned by you, portable across every model, platform, and tool you'll ever use.
Every time you start a new AI conversation, you start from zero. No memory of your projects, your preferences, or your history. The model is powerful — but it doesn't know you. HALO changes that.
HALO is built on a simple belief: context is the foundation of meaningful collaboration. It starts with a simple question: "What do you want to build create solve accomplish ?"
HALO is a protocol that carries your context across every AI interaction... one session and one project at a time.
HALO is composed of a family of open sub-protocols that work together to give AI systems a structured, portable understanding of who you are. At its core is PACP (Personal AI Context Protocol) — your personal context layer — paired with UACP (Universal AI Context Protocol) for shared, cross-platform context. Together with CRAG (Crystallized RAG), TDO/TDOM, and the Attribute Registry, HALO creates a complete memory layer for human-AI collaboration.
No more starting from scratch. No more lost context. No more repetitive explanations.
Built on Firebase, AWS, and Anthropic's Claude, the HALO reference implementation combines open standards with state-of-the-art AI capabilities. We chose Claude for its exceptional contextual understanding and nuanced, long-horizon reasoning... essential qualities for a protocol designed to persist human intent across AI interactions.
Whether you're conducting research, leading a development team, or building creative work, HALO maintains your context and attribution across every session. Researchers preserve methodology and findings. Developers maintain consistent patterns and decisions. Writers develop coherent voice and narrative. All of this, powered by AI that truly knows the scope of your work.
The possibilities are vast: Research labs can maintain complex experimental workflows. Development teams can tackle technical debt with full context. Content creators can maintain editorial voice across months of work. Enterprises can embed institutional knowledge directly into AI workflows. HALO is the layer that makes all of this possible.
We're starting with the open specification, the reference implementation, and the GitHub organization — because transparency and community are fundamental to how open protocols succeed. But this is just the beginning! By giving AI systems a structured way to understand and attribute human context, HALO is laying the groundwork for truly collaborative, continuous human-AI work.
